Entschuldigung

Hallo Zusammen! It has been right around two months since my last post. I did not at all intend to take such a long break from blogging, and I apologize for the inconsistency in my posts. I have all kinds of post ideas written down, and some half-constructed posts scattered variously among notebooks and cell phones, so be prepared for a massive influx of posts. I’ll do a quick recap on what I’ve been up to, with more detailed posts to come later on.

After the first semester ended on 13. February, I had a week’s rest before I took off on a trip to Northern Germany with a group of friends. We returned on Saturday the 27th, and then three days later, I was off to Greece to visit a friend I made in one of my classes. I spent five days in Thessaloniki and five days in Athens, and then flew back to Germany. Once I returned, I had 6 days to prepare for a two-week visit from my boyfriend, Kyle, who lives in California. A few days after he arrived, we flew to Amsterdam, where we spent three days. We also made a short trip up to Hessen, where we visited a friend of Kyle’s.

Since Kyle left, I haven’t run off on another trip (yet), as I have been preparing for the upcoming semester here in Tübingen as well as my fall semester at SSU. Which is to say, I’ve been spending plenty of time on my couch, catching up on some relaxation.

Although the semester officially began last week, my classes didn’t begin until today. DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache – German as a foreign language) classes typically begin in the second week of the semester for some German reason. This semester, I am only taking DaF classes, because I couldn’t get any classes to count for my Environmental Studies major, and the one class that interested me enough to take anyway was full. After unsuccessfully attempting to crash a first-semester Russian language class, I submissively registered for a fourth German language class.

My schedule runs Tuesday-Thursday, beginning at noon on Tuesdays and ending at 16:00 on Thursdays. As you might have noticed, I have plenty of time for a job, internship, or volunteer work. My intention is to scoop up two out of three of the above mentioned, and this process is underway. Until then, I will have enough free time to start cranking out some posts. You can expect a few posts regarding the places I’ve traveled, but also posts covering a handful of topics like life in Germany, what it’s like to study at a German university, what it’s like to live and travel abroad, and other such things that I think my friends, family, and other miscellaneous readers might find interesting.

In the meantime, here are a few random photos. Many more will be uploaded soon. Enjoy!
